William "Bill" Frederick Carter

William (Bill) Frederick Carter, 87, of Nederland passed away on April 21 st , 2023 at a Private care home in Port Arthur.

Bill was born on November 30 th , 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Howard Carter and Janie Lorenz.

He was a lifelong resident of the Golden Triangle and member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. He was a long time employee of Gulf Oil.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marlene Litchfield Carter, his father Howard Carter, his mother, Janie Lorenz Carter, brothers Phillip and John Carter, and grandson William R Carter.

He is survived by his sons, Gary Carter and his wife, Eleanor of Klein, Mark Carter and his wife Lesley, of Austin and by his grandchildren Amanda Carter, Shelby Carter and Grace Carter.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Bill’s life will be at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in the loving memory of Bill Carter.
