A Life Remembered

Obituary

Vivian Bernice Escagne, 79, of Port Neches passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Vivian was born on October 27, 1941 in Port Arthur to parents Lula (Wyatt) and Claude Adams. She was a resident of Port Arthur and Port Neches for many years. She retired from DuPont Nordel in Beaumont as an Accounting Clerk after 30+ years of employment. She was a well-recognized and respected local artist (favorite medium watercolor painting) and art teacher in the area and later opened and operated her own shop, Viv E’s Art and Accents, in Nederland, Texas. She had a deep-rooted passion for the arts, loved collaborating with others, and continued teaching children, teens, and adults for many years. Many of her students pursued their talents into their high school and college years with several going on to win awards for their work. Vivian was also a dedicated member of Port Arthur First Church of the Nazarene. Vivian was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Grace Pritchett, Anna Guy, Wilbert Davis, Patsy Thomas, Juanita Deaver, Claudia Broussard and Betty Ratliff.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Irving E. Escagne, Jr. of Port Neches, her sons, Steven E. Escagne of Port Neches, Eric Escagne and his wife Patricia of St. Louis, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Aunt Vivian was a light of love. She shared her abilities and love freely. I’ve many happy memories, from childhood summers spent in her home to sitting with her during art exhibitions. Love and miss you Aunt Vivian.
