Obituary

Vernon Lee Duplantis, 85, of Port Neches passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his residence.

Vernon was born on September 13, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Dennis and Addie Duplantis.

He lived in the Port Neches area since 1959 and was an auto mechanic for many years. Vernon was a veteran, serving his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed going deer hunting, watching football, growing satsumas and having a glass of bourbon. Vernon was a loving and kind person who will be missed dearly.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: the love of his life, Mary Ann Duplantis, his daughter, Leslie Duplantis Hebert and his sister, Betty Jane Weldon.

Vernon is survived by his children, Brad Duplantis of Port Neches, Maggie Duplantis of Sugar Land, his brother, Carl Duplantis and wife Margie of Nederland, his sister, Floyd Briggs of Vidor.

He is also survived by his 6 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, and 2 great granddaughters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves followed by a 1:00 PM graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park (at the gazebo) in Port Neches, celebrant will be Rev. Rejimon George, C.M.I.
