Steven Ray Jackson Sr., 70, of Groves passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his home.

Steven was born on April 6, 1954 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Mary Joyce (Hargrave) and John Albert Jackson. He was a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas. He retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad as a Carman and after retirement he worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter, which he enjoyed meeting new people. He was an honorary member of The Milwaukee Best Light Club. Steven enjoyed the outdoors: going fishing, going to the lake, barbecuing and cooking for family and friends, and hanging out on his patio. He took pride in a well groomed yard and his was an avid Cowboys fan. Steven was a loving person who will be missed dearly by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Albert and Mary Joyce Jackson.

Steven is survived by his wife, Robin Jackson of Groves, his sons, Steven Jackson Jr. of Port Arthur, Shane Jackson and his wife, Alysia of Bridge City, Ryan Jackson of Nederland, his daughter, Britni White of Groves and his brother, Bubba Jackson of Hot Springs Village, AR. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Victoria Jackson of Orangefield, Tyler Jackson of Bridge City, Brooklyn Jackson of Groves, McKynna Jackson of Port Neches and Kinnadi Allen of Groves.

A special Thank You to Shelly Gragg and Compassion Hospice for their loving care given to our love one, Steven.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. The family is honoring Steven’s wishes to be cremated.
