Obituary

Stephen Alan Stansbury, 57, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Stephen was born on February 24, 1962 in Orange, Texas to parents Marjorie Evangeline (Anderson) and Wilson James Stansbury. He has lived in the Nederland area for many years and he was employed with Stork Construction Company as a pipefitter. Stephen loved the outdoors, going fishing, hunting and barbecuing for family and friends. Stephen was a loving and caring person who will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Stansbury and his sister, Paula Mooneyham.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Shelia Sue Stansbury, his father, Wilson James Stansbury, his son, Kenneth Stansbury and his wife, Crystal and their son, Zachary, his daughter, Heather Gillette and her husband, Kyle and their children, Gabriel and Logan, his stepdaughter, Crystal Hatcher and her husband, Mike and their children Kristin and Heather and her son, Landon. He is also survived by his siblings, David Stansbury and his wife, Carol, Resa Woolman and her husband, Walter, Michael Stansbury and his wife, Jo Ann, Phillip Stansbury and his wife, Kathleen, Darryle Stansbury and his wife, Twila, Cheryle Mooneyham and her husband, Bill, Jon Stansbury and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stephen had a very giving heart; his final act of kindness was to give the gift of life by being a organ donor.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a memorial service held at 6:30 PM at the funeral home on Thursday. Arrangements for cremation were in entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
