Semmie Reed Miles

Semmie Reed Miles, 85, of Lake Charles, Louisiana and former resident of Winnie passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Ochsner Lake Area Hospital in Lake Charles.

He was born on January 1, 1938 in Shelbyville, Texas to John Marion Miles, Jr. and Neva Byrd Miles. Semmie was a retired Electrician with IBEW local with 34 years of service. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Cosmopolitan  Lodge  #872 A.F. & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Walter and wife Rita Miles.

Semmie is survived by his niece Carla Jo Miles; great niece Kimberly Paige McCord, great nephew Judson Miles McCord and wife Christina, great niece Heather Renee Britain and husband Trevor; Great-great nieces,  Adilynn Marie McCord,  Mylie Grace Rougeau,  Willa Sage McCord,  Evelyn Rose Britain. Great-great nephews  Dayson Miles McCord,  Oliver Grayson Mcord all from Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from Noon till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Semmie’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel with Masonic Service to follow in the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
