Ruby Gladys Flurry

Ruby Gladys Flurry, 93, of Groves passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Ruby was born on August 18, 1929 in Lafayette, Louisiana to parents Alice (Bower) and Levy Provost. She had lived in Southeast Texas since she was nine years old. Ruby was a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves; where she was active with the Altar Society. She enjoyed knitting, cooking for her family and friends and she took an active role in helping raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruby was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Levy Provost, first husband, Donald V. Flurry, her second husband, Rollin E. Gattis, her daughter, Linda Phillips, her brothers, Blaise and Darrell Provost.

Ruby is survived by her son, Mark Flurry and his wife, Laurie of Port Neches, her daughters, Tania Bowen and her husband, Max of Portland, ME, Denise Lalonde of Groves and her brother, Gene Provost of Lumberton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zack Bowen, Matt Phillips, Sarah Phillips May, Eric Flurry, Ashlyn Flurry, Monique Lalonde Morein, Reid Lalonde and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
