Ruby Karen Everett Cranford

Ruby Karen Everett Cranford, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 25, 2025, @ Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas, with family at her side. Born on January 9, 1941, in Port Arthur, Texas, Ruby lived a life characterized by her strong faith, love of family, and dedication to her career.

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Ruby devoted herself to helping others, working in hospitals and home health nursing agencies from Jasper to Houston. She had the honor of caring for patients traveling as far as California. Her career in nursing was 35+ years.

Her compassion and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Alongside her professional achievements, Ruby was also known for her artistic talents. She found great joy in painting and drawing, often sharing her creative pursuits with friends at Jefferson Rehab and Collier Park of Beaumont, not to mention her loved ones big and small.

A member of the Baptist faith, Ruby embraced her spirituality with a gentle heart, instilling in her family the values of love and kindness. She leaves behind a vibrant legacy and a host of cherished memories.

Ruby is survived by her son, Randy Truss and his wife, Velma of Beaumont; daughter, Ronda Miller and her husband, Palmer of Groves; daughter, Roxann LeBoeuf and her husband, Richard of Nederland. Her grandchildren, Leeza, Elizabeth, educator Blas, Army veterans Robert (wife Yessica) & Todd (wife Hayley), Jonathan (wife Lauren Truss-Hall), Sarah, William, and Wayne, along with seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, continue to honor her memory through their love and accomplishments. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Edith Brown of Lumberton.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Jesse Cranford; her parents, Lewis Elmer Everett and Margaret Sterling LeJeune; sisters, Mattie "Punkin" and Ruth; and her great-great-grandchild, Braxton Rodriquez.

You got to live a long life, which allowed you to do meany things. Everyone is not promised that so that is a good thing. I appreciate the support you had for me while I served twice in Iraq and once in Afghanistan. You’ll always be my Grandma and myself, my wife Yessica ( another U.S. Army & Iraq war Veteran, son Caleb, and the Princess’s Zoey and Maya will always remember and love you, Aunt Punkin, Aunt Ruby and Maw Maw Margerett.
