A Life Remembered

Obituary

Rolando Guadalupe Garcia passed away Thursday evening on September 23 rd , 2021 at his home in Port Arthur, TX. Roland was born on August 8 th , 1963 to Olivia and Joe Garcia at St. Mary’s Hospital. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in 1982.

He will be remembered as an adventurous, exciting, and a kind hearted individual who always saw the good in people and had a great sense of humor. He had the purest heart and most charming smile. Roland was a loving father who was extremely proud of his children. Everyone that knew Roland knows he was always willing to help a neighbor, friend, or family member in need and would give the shirt off his back for someone.

As a young man, Roland enjoyed skating, skateboarding, and surfing. He loved listening to music of all genres and was always grooving to his favorite tunes. His barbequing skills were unparalleled and would draw those closer to inquire what that exquisite smell was. He was master of many trades and could fix almost anything. Roland was a loving and caring individual whom we all adored.

He is survived by his three children, Roland Anthony Garcia, Lenton Richard Garcia, and Millie Jan Garcia; his mother, Olivia “Rita” Porras and his father, Joe A. Garcia; his siblings, Tina Garcia Moreau and Joe A. Garcia II; and  four grandchildren.

Roland, we are all going to miss you very much! I’ll always remember the best of times we shared growing up and just having pure fun as kids and teenagers. I was always so excited to spend the weekends at your place growing up-man we had so much fun! You  were always a loving, caring and happy person that was just your nature and it drew people to you.  I’m gonna miss you much my friend. Just know that your blessed spirit lives forever and it will shine bright to all that knew you with happy memories. Love you brother, never forgotten and see you out in the surf.

I will remember your smile and your zest for life. Rest well knowing that we have wonderful children who were taught to love, care and respect each other. Know that our grandchildren thrive and will continue to do so. They will be told all the wonderful stories about you and your adventures. Although the next days, weeks and months will be a struggle for the kids, they will be comforted in knowing you loved them above all else from the moment of their first breath. Rest in eternal peace.
