Roberto Carlos Obregon, 56, of Groves, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 21, 1962 to his parents, Roberto Obregon and Daisy Solorzano in Managua, Nicaragua. He has been a resident of the area since he was 17 years old. He was joined in marriage to his wife, Miriam on July 6, 1991. Roberto was an excellent husband and friend, father, brother and son. He worked as a pipefitter for over 20 years with Signal along with several other companies. He was a member of the Spanish United Petecostal Church in Port Arthur. He always maintained a very positive attitude, good spiritual leader and always willing to help and sustained his faith until the end. He will be missed by all who knew him and remembered forever.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Alan Obregon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam Chicas Obregon of Groves; three daughters, Anita Obregon of Port Arthur, April Obregon of Groves, Michelle Ceja of Groves; four sons, Melvin Chicas and wife, Ingrid of Port Arthur, Roberto C. Chicas and wife, Connie of Groves, Roberto Carlos Obregon and wife, Alexandria of Troop, Texas, Arnulfo Obregon of Groves along with 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Roberto Obregon and his sister, Doris Siebert and husband, Gustavo of Groves; three brothers, Jimmy Obregon and wife, Theresa of Nederland, Yuri Obregon and wife, Gloria of Port Arthur, Roberto Carlos “Chale” Obregon and wife, Karla of Port Arthur as well as five nieces and five nephews.
Visitation for the Family will be on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM and will open to the public at 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Memorial service at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation for the family will continue on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from Noon until 1:00 PM and will open to the public at 1:00 PM until service time at Spanish United Pentecostal Church, 3901 Lewis Drive, Port Arthur. Service to honor Roberto’s life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
