Obituary

Robert Marcus Schnarr, 94, of Groves passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

He was born on August 1, 1929 in Dearborn, Michigan to Beulah Harris Schnarr and Clarence Schnarr. Robert was a longtime resident of the area. He served in the United States Army. Robert retired as Program Manager of KJAC Channel 4 in Port Arthur after 40 years of service. He was very active in Kiwanis Club, a former member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, where he served in the Vestry at the church and currently Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Carolyn Schnarr.

He is survived by his two daughters, Julie Gleinser and husband David of Port Arthur, Laura Cook of Cypress along with his two grandchildren, Samantha Pickett and Marcus Gleinser both of Dallas. He is also survived by sister, Dorothy Abel of Indiana as well as his nephews.

Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. His ashes will be entombed at the columbarium inside Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, next to his wife, on February 3rd with his family only in attendance.
