Robert E. Bailey

Robert E. Bailey, 88, of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Rose Place in Port Arthur.

He was born on January 27, 1934 in Port Neches, Texas to Gussie Frank Bailey and Alice Eva Dearing Bailey. Robert was a lifelong resident of the area. He retired from Texaco as a pipefitter after 42 years of service. Robert was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur and currently a member of Grace Baptist Church in Groves following the merger of Central and Friendship.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Elmer F. Bailey; his nephew, Rodney Bailey and his nephew-in-law, Mark Aucion.

He is survived by his brother, James Bailey of Nederland; his two nieces, Connie Gregory and husband James of Groves, Cindy Aucion of Kirbyville along with several great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church in Groves. Service to honor Robert’s life will be at 11:00 AM with Rev. Phil Sigman, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
