Obituary

Richard Eugene Robbins, 71, of Groves passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

He was born on October 12, 1952 in Port Arthur, Texas to Lena Romero Robbins and Newton D. Robbins. Richard was a lifelong resident of the area. He worked as counselor at the Texas Youth Commission for over 10 years.

He was also preceded in death by his parents Lena Romero and Newton D. Robbins, his brothers Glenn David and Delbert D. “Bubba” Robbins, and his first wife Elizabeth Robbins, Elizabeth (died Monday, March 25, 2002).

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Robbins; his sons, Jarrod Robbins and Michael Robbins; his three daughters, Carla Orta, Kristi Cronin, and Jade Robbins.

Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Private services will be held at a later date.

I meet him and his family about 6 months ago when I started back at IHOP they became my regulars I remember when he started going blind and had surgery I catered to him and went above and beyond to make sure that he was able to eat by putting his food on different plates and plating it for him like he was looking at a clock. I grew attached to this family and will keep them in my prayers through this tough time. Charlotte Michael and Jade I hope you'll find peace during this difficult time you'll know y'all can always come see me and I'm here for y'all. Love your favorite waitress at IHOP may you rest in peace.
