Raymond Victor Woods, Jr., 78, of Groves passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Bonne Vie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on July 9, 1943 in Port Arthur, Texas to Raymond Victor Woods, Sr. and Bernice Tomlin Woods. Raymond was raised in Port Arthur and lived in Groves for over 30 years. He began working at Arco Polymers and retired as a maintenance supervisor with West Lake Chemical Company.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Woods, Sr.; his wife, Catherine Moriarty Woods and his daughter, Tammy Doiron.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Proctor and her husband, Paul of Brookeland, Texas; his two step-daughters, Christine Hutson and her husband, Tim of Bridge City, Jeannine Hanson and her husband, Shawn of Bridge City; six grandchildren, Crystal Carter, Erica Fontenot, Austin Broussard, Teague Hutson, Emmey Hutson and Sydney Hanson along with 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Sandra Conner and her husband, Charles of Beaumont, Gloria Woods; his three brothers, Lionel Woods and his wife, Barbara of Kansas, Robert Woods and his wife, Sue of Broaddus, Texas, Michael Woods and his wife, Linda of Port Neches as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Raymond’s life will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 16, 2021 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
