Norma Watson Cormier

Norma Watson Cormier, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 3, 2026, at the age of 92, in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on October 26, 1933 in Krotz Springs, Louisiana, to Abdon and Rosa Angelle. Norma lived a life rich in creativity, devotion, and an unwavering love for her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories.
Throughout her remarkable life, Norma found immense joy and expressed her vibrant spirit through a multitude of creative pursuits. Her hands were rarely still, as she meticulously crafted beautiful pieces through knitting, crochet, and sewing, often creating thoughtful gifts that brought smiles to her loved ones. She also possessed a keen artistic eye, evident in her paintings and ceramics, where she poured her heart into every brushstroke and sculpted form. Yet, above all her artistic endeavors, Norma's greatest passion and source of happiness was the time she spent with her cherished family. Her home was a hub of activity, filled with laughter, shared stories, and the comforting presence of those she held most dear.
Norma's loving spirit lives on through her devoted children: Danny Watson and his wife Linda, Randy Watson and his wife Sue, Gaye Brown and her husband Johnny, Leta Watson, and Lynette Watson. Her legacy further blossoms through her extensive family, including fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one precious great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her dear brother, James "Jimmy" Angelle; her son-in-law, Tim Godair, her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Cindy Thibodeaux; and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her presence and loving guidance.
Norma was reunited in eternal peace with those who preceded her in death, including her beloved parents, Abdon and Rosa Angelle. She also joins her cherished husbands, Evans Russell Watson and Leo Cormier, who were her partners in life. Her heart carried the sorrow of losing her son, Ronnie Watson, and her daughter, Linda Godair. Additionally, she was preceded by her brothers, Earl Angelle and Phillip Angelle, and her sisters, Dolores Belaire and Genevieve Vidrine. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life's tapestry.

A Rosary will be recited in Norma's honor on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 09:30 AM, followed by a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. These services will take place at St. Therese, the Little Flower Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, Texas 77640. The Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Therese, the Little Flower Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Norma will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
