Messages of Love

From family and friends

Belinda Walker Roccaforte September 26, 2024
Mr. Blackie was our neighbor for as long as I can recall on Blue Hole. Even before we built the house he and May were there. Whether he was in his garden, in the water, or on the wharf, my memories of him are all good. He loved to talk and he loved me because I was the only girl in both his family and mine. I think he just liked having a girl around. LOL Groves is such a small town and even when I would come into town (I've lived in Houston for 33 years) I would hear about Mr. Hebert. I'm so glad he lived a good and long life and did not suffer much at the end. Many prayers for the repose of your soul, Mr. Blackie.

My family knew his family when they lived off of Angelle in Port Arthur. They lived down the street from my uncle. I knew his son Brian. We were the same age. They moved to "Blue Hole" to PNISD country. We lost contact. However, I remember Mr. Hebert as a funny, kind and good man. Always willing to have fun with the kids. I am sorry for your loss.
