Mildred "Millie" Ann Rougeau

Mildred “Millie” Ann Blanchard Rougeau, 88, of Port Neches passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Cascades of Port Arthur.

She was born on November 18, 1934 in Port Arthur, Texas to Luke Blanchard and Aline Champagne Blanchard.  Millie was a lifelong resident of the area.  She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School, where she was a member of the Colleen’s.  Millie attended Louisiana State University on a music scholarship in Baton Rouge.  Millie started her working career at Gulf Oil Company, later working for Port Arthur Independent School District.  After she raised her family, she found her true calling as a realtor. She quickly became a top producer and manager. Over the next thirty years, she continued to be very active in the Mid County Board of Realtors, serving as President several times.  Millie attended St James Catholic Church and St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenison “Ken” Rougeau.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hickham and husband David of Corpus Christi; her son Kevin Rougeau and wife Gena Hardy Ferguson of Port Neches; her three grandsons, Robert Hickham and wife Hilda of Houston, Patrick Hickham of Corpus Christi, and Stephen Rougeau of Houston.  She was blessed to have two great- grandson, Greyson Hickham and David Hickham.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.  Service to honor Millie ‘s life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Rougeau family, please accept my deepest sympathy and prayers for you during your time of sorrow. I knew Millie and Ken for many years, had a lot of good times and laughs. Millie was a beautiful and wonderful friend and working partner. She will be missed by all who knew her. She now rests in the arms and grace of God.
