I loved hearing the gangway watch call and say that Mike Brau and a bunch of pirates were boarding the ship. It always brought a smile to my face. A fantastic professional, a fantastic personality, and a fantastic "shipmate" (At the dock!). The Sadler brothers - Captain Chuck, Captain Steve, and myself send our condolences to the family and friends of Mike Brau. Smooth seas and a following breeze.

You will missed my friend, all the hours spent in Norshipco working on turbines, you, Pete Jimmy, give me three and your crazy work crew. I consider it an honor to call you a friend and to have spent so much time in the yards with you. May God give you family peace in this most difficult time. Fair wind and follow seas as you repair the turbines in heaven.

Kathy and all Mike's family: I hope you can treasure all your memories of Turbine Mike. We did alot of things over the years, and always had a lot of laughs, no matter what the situation. He always did what he promised, and he got the ship out. If I got a message that he called, I dropped what I was doing to see to it. After he retired, if he saw on the news that something blew up in New York, he was on the phone to make sure I was ok. A true gentleman.

It was sad news to hear of Mike's passing and I would like to send the sincere condolences of both my wife Susan and I to Mike's wife and family. It is a great loss for all of us who had the pleasure to have Mike as a friend and the honor to work with him on many ships over many years. One of the best steam turbine experts I have known in my time and his professional skills were exceeded only by the integrity, humor, and calm in the face great difficulties that he brought to an engine room. I know if my Dad were still with us he would say exactly the same, and so I offer this on his behalf as well. I hope they are sitting in a Chief Engineer's office on the other side right now, having a cold one and a good laugh. Rest in well deserved peace old friend.

I am saddened to hear of Mike's passing. In the decades we worked together, the different ships and shipyards, one constant was Turbine Mike and the Worldwide gang. Always a learning experience and filled with laughter. Dinosaurs we are and were, and the memories are golden. Rest in Peace my friend. You'll be missed.

To Mikes Wife and Family, I would like to pass my sincere condolences, I am deeply saddened by your loss and the loss of my "life long" friend. I have so many good memories of Mike, he was one of the finest human beings ever had the privilege to call friend. Integrity beyond reproach, kind he saw good in everyone and treated all with friendship and respect. Sharpness of wit and fantastic sense of humor. He had the ability to work alongside anyone in harmony, even if they did not speak the same language, he was admired and respected by all that knew him. I will miss you my brother. RIP

We were very good friends when I was 18 yrs. old. We had much fun with all our friends. Our best accomplishment was bringing our daughter Melissa Cay Brau into our world on 4/22/68. Many years have passed since but you will never be forgotten. May God Bless you and keep you and may you Rest in Peace and see the face of Our Lord for all eternity. Melissa's mom, Linda
