Obituary

Melisa Elaine Johnson, 60, of Sour Lake, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Riceland Medical Center in Winnie, Texas.

Melisa was born on July 26, 1959 in Port St. Joe, Florida to parents, Melvin Douglas Weber and Gussie Carolyn (Johnson) Weber. She had lived in Southeast Texas all her life and she was a member of Praise Chapel Church in Sour Lake, TX. Melisa worked at Brookshire Brothers Store for many years as a department manager. She enjoyed stitching, reading, and doing word search puzzles. Melisa was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gussie Weber, her sister, Mary Weber, and her grandson, Wade Johnson.

Melisa is survived by her sons, Matt Johnson and his wife, Alicia of La Belle, TX, Michael Johnson of Sour Lake, TX, her daughter, Rhonda Johnson of Channelview, TX, her father, Melvin Weber of Duncan, OK, her brother, Doug Weber and wife, Theresa of Duncan, OK and her sister of Regina Sensing and her husband, Chris of Liberty, TX, her ex husband, Mike Johnson of Sour Lake, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elyse Johnson, Brittney Johnson, Brandon Wehunt, Caiden Patterson, her great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aziah and Adriel Vargas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with at gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM until service time. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
