Obituary

Mathilde Ann Monaco Beckcom, 93, of Montgomery, Texas and former resident of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Vitas Hospice Encompass Rehab in The Woodlands.

She was born on August 7, 1926 to her parents, Rocco Monaco and Pauline Matise Monaco in Port Arthur, Texas. Mathilde was a longtime resident of Port Arthur before moving to Houston three and a half years ago. She attended Port Arthur Business College and Our Lady of Lakes College in San Antonio. Mathilde retired from Weiners as a Sales clerk after 27 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, James and Charles Monaco and her daughter, Patricia Beckcom Bernard.

She is survived by her son, Rocco Michael Monaco, grandchildren, Denise Wright and husband, Travis, Jeffrey Hinson, Jonathan Hinson, Mikka Beckcom Buxton and husband, Wayne, her great grandchildren, Kaylee Hooper, Kyla Hooper, Valencia Hinson, Kyndall Hinson, Keagan Hinson, Kelss Hinson, Morgan Buxton, Mikaela Buxton and Madison Buxton.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Christian Vigil service to be held at 6 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
