Mary Monte Koons, 65, of Nederland passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at her home.

She was born on April 9, 1954 to her parents, Galen Eugene Johnson and Jean Brough Johnson in Seguin, Texas. She has been a resident of the Golden Triangle area since 1963 and Nederland for the last 30 years. Mary was a licensed cosmetologist and worked at Hair Dimension’s for the last 11 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches. Mary was a very generous and talented person with a huge heart and would help anyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by her son, Monty Broussard and wife, Hannah of Dickinson, her daughter, Jessica Koons of Port Neches, her step-daughter, April Harris and husband, Michael of Crosby, her sister, Kathy Landry and husband, Gene of Round Rock, Her two brothers, Gerald Johnson and wife, Robbie of San Antonio, Tom Johnson and wife, Jane of Houston, several nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the love and support from all her friends that have help them during this difficult time in their lives.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 5:00 PM till 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Memorial Service to honor Mary’s life will be at 6:00 PM Monday in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Private Inurnment will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches.
