Obituary
Marlene Ann Solano, 75, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was born on August 15, 1947 in Port Arthur, Texas to James Smith and Norine Miller. Marlene was a lifelong resident of the area. She retired from Sam’s Club in Beaumont after 15 years of service. Marlene was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandsons, Christopher Ortiz and Matthew Ortiz.
Marlene is survived by five daughters, Jacqueline Deery of San Antonio, Cynthia Shaw and husband Michael of Newton, Tona Sanchez of Nederland, Victoria Flores and husband Domingo of Nederland, Aida Tristan and husband Fidel of Port Neches; her three sons, Samuel Villarreal and wife Pauline of Beaumont, Salvador Solano of Foley, Alabama, Jose Rodriguez and wife Lila of Richmond, Texas; her 29 grandchildren, Brooke Villarreal, Jacob Villarreal, Kane Villarreal, Dylan Villarreal, Ashley Compean, Matthew Pardo, Marlena Pardo, Rupero Pardo, Leticia Rodriguez, Brisa Reyes, Christopher Reyes, Antonio Reyes, Domingo Flores III, Chelsea Flores, Hailey Flores, Justin Tamayo, Jacob Tristan, Jason Tristan, Hannah Tristan, Harper Tristan, Julia Solano, Salvador Solano III, Alejandro Solano, Sebastian Solano, Elijah Solano, Iker Atilano, Lilly Rodriguez, Jessie Rodriguez, Gallie Rodriguez along with 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Marlene’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
