Mark Vernon Hanks, 62, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Silsbee Convalescent Home.
Mark was born on September 11, 1958 in Crowley Louisiana to parents Dorothy (Schrock) and Joseph Richard Hanks Sr. He has lived in the Port Arthur area for more than 40 years. Mark was owner and operator vending machine business and he also worked construction; but his passion in life was playing his guitar, singing and entertaining people. He never met a stranger and he touched so many lives, you were instant friends forever. Mark was a loving person who loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Richard Hanks Sr., his wife, Terri L. Hanks and his brother, Joseph Richard Hanks Jr.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Kristin Payne and her husband, Derrick of Orange, his mother, Dorothy Hanks of Crowley, LA, his sisters, Donna Hammersky and her husband, David of Pasadena, TX, Cheryl Javadzadeh and her husband, Hammod of Crowely, LA, his aunt Pasty "Pappie" Lambright of Baytown, his nieces and nephews, Mark Schrock, Jenna Schrock, Matthew Hammersky, Tessa Javadzadeh. He is also survived by his brother in life, Floyd "Bubba" Guidry and his wife, Brenda of Port Neches.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
