Obituary

Marjorie Gwyndola Henderson Cozad, 91, of Orange passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Focused Care at Orange.

She was born on November 17, 1928 in Shreveport, Louisiana to her parents, Frank Henderson and Maggie Wooley Henderson. Marjorie and Mark raised their children in Groves before moving to Ivanhoe, where they lived for 13 years and has been a resident of Orange since 2009. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her family along with her husband, Mark. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Woodville.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mark Emery Cozad.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Hardin of Bridge City; Marla Gauthier and husband, Waid of Orange; her two sons, Mark Cozad, Jr. and his wife, Valerie of San Antonio; Kyle Cozad and his wife, Nancy of Kingwood; her nine grandchildren, Joel Hardin, Kim Hardin, Kevin Cozad, Sean Cozad, Waid Gauthier, Jr., Angie Pardue, Lance Cozad, Greg Cozad and Keith Cozad, her five great grandchildren, Lauren McClain, Hunter and Victoria Gauthier, Avery and Abbey Pardue. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Pat Cousins of Roanoke, Virginia and Shirley Cozad of The Woodlands.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Marjorie’s life will be at 2:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis that we are currently in, all visitors to the Funeral Home are required to wear face mask or covering and practice social distancing under orders from State and County officials.
