Marilyn Sue Williamson

1949 ∼ 2025

Marilyn Sue Williamson

Marilyn Sue Williamson, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, in her hometown of Port Arthur, Texas. Born on December 23, 1949, she brought joy and laughter to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Marilyn dedicated her professional life as an Instrument Tech at Gulf Oil and later as a Cashier at Delta Downs Casino. Her work ethic was matched only by her vibrant personality, which lit up the workplace and endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. She thrived in environments where she could connect with people, always taking the time to share a smile and a warm word.

Outside of her career, Marilyn had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. She loved playing cards and often spent evenings having friendly matches and laughter-filled gatherings with family and friends. Traveling and cruising ignited her adventurous spirit, as she explored new destinations and created unforgettable memories along the way. A highlight of her week was attending ladies night out of TJ Class of '68 and friends, where she found joy and camaraderie among her peers.

Marilyn’s greatest treasure, however, was her family. She is survived by her loving son, Robert "Bobby" Williamson, and his wife Tina; her cherished grandson, Quentin Williamson;  and her dear brother, Mark Jackson, along with his wife, Theresa. Also survived by Emily Beard and Skyla Muth who she loved as her own grandchildren. Their bond strengthened over shared experiences, and they will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Marilyn is also reunited in spirit with her beloved parents, Robert and Mary Jackson, and her brother, Robert Jackson. They were the guiding light in her life, and her love for them never wavered, even throughout the years.

Marilyn’s companionship was not limited to humans; her beloved dog was a constant source of comfort and affection, reminding all who knew her of her capacity for love and nurturing.

A graveside service will be held to honor her life and legacy on April 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of a woman whose warmth and spirit touched so many.

The family would like to express their profound gratitude to Edna Beard for all the love, compassion and friendship she gave to Marilyn.

Though she may have departed from this world, the indelible mark that Marilyn left will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her laughter, love, and zest for life will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Marilyn. You will be profoundly missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Marilyn‘s passing. We knew each other since Thomas Edison Junior High School and Thomas Jefferson High School, and have some good times together. We all went our separate ways, but we’re reunited with our TJHS Class of ‘68 reunions and mini-reunions. Marilyn was always right there helping to organize these great events. You have all lost a good friend.
