Marilyn Vanessa Guy, 66, of Groves passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home.
Marilyn was born on August 20, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Dorothy Pearl (Christie) and Ernest Ralph Knod. She has been a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas; living in Port Arthur, Nederland, Port Neches and Groves. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Marilyn’s pride and joy were her children and her grandchildren, who she loved spending time with. Marilyn’s adopted child was her beloved dog, Lacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dorothy Knod and her brother, Karl J. Knod.
Marilyn is survived by the love of her life, Timothy D. Guy of Groves, her son, Jeffery E. Guy and his wife, Tracy Lee Guy of Groves, her daughter, Melissa R. Townsend and her husband, Stephen Townsend of Port Neches, her grandchildren, Jacob Townsend, Alison Townsend and Greyson Guy. She is also survived by her brothers, Ernie E. Knod and his wife, Teresa of Groves, Gary R. Knod and his partner, David Halliwell of Huntsville, Roger Knod and his wife, Debbie of Nederland, her sisters, Gloria Funk and her husband, Ron of Beaumont, Kristina Moss of Port Arthur and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with at visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
