Margaret Ann Durham

1942 ∼ 2024

On July 17, 2024, Margaret Ann “MeMe” Durham passed away peacefully in her home in Katy, Texas. She was born in Galveston, Texas on August 19, 1942. She graduated from Ball High School: then met the love of her life Kenneth Durham in 1964. They put down their roots in the Houston, Texas area, but lived in other states throughout her life including Colorado, California, and Michigan. No matter where life took her, she always kept her faith in Christ close. Margaret and Ken would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on July 31st.

In Margaret’s younger years, she was an avid tennis player and enjoyed running.  Margaret fiercely loved her friends, neighbors, care takers, dogs and most importantly, her family.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Durham, two children, Courtney Prentiss and Clint Durham, and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Paul and Blake. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home 5200 W. Parkway Street Groves, Texas 77619. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. The family will hold a private burial service at a later date.

I have this feeling there's one more star up in the sky tonight. And even though it's far away, its brightness and warmth still reach us here to make the night a little less dark. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5.4. God is watching over you, and that, throughout this time of need. He'll stay close by your side. With sympathy and prayers from the heart. We will miss Margaret!! Love, Jerome and Debbie Wilson

My name is Kaitlyn, I was Margaret’s eldest grandchild. To me though, she was “Meme”. I traveled the states with her and Ken “Papa”, learned from their lives and lessons, and was by her side until she could not fight any longer. She was a fighter and lover, and will always be missed! I love you Meme!
