Lucy Ann Meyer

Lucy Ann Meyer, 83, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully on October 8, 2018. She was born on July 1, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Parents Joseph and Mamie Mosca

In 1953, Lucy graduated from Bishop Byrne Catholic High School and began her work as Transcriptionist at St. Mary's Hospital for 30 years. In the 1980's, she began hosting St. Joseph's Altar at her residence for several years bringing family, friends and the community together. She was known for her feistiness and personality. Lucy enjoyed traveling for Raymond’s softball tournaments, spending time at the beach house, and making trips to the casino. Her true love and devotion for her family was

expressed through kindness, giving, cooking meals, and simply spending time or celebrating the holidays together. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Lucy is survived by her daughter Sharon Cates and husband Brad, sister Rose and husband Glen Segura, grandchildren Corey, Michael, and Jennifer Beenen, great grandchildren Cortlyn Beenen and JoLee Hollier, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond and son Butch.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 12 PM until 2 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 1 PM. A 2 PM funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

I have very fond memories of Lucy spending part of our summers at her camp in Krystal Beach!  She was always happy to have us rambunctious kids there. She had a wonderful, infectious smile.  Heaven surely gained an angel!
