Obituary

Lois Elizabeth Bryan, 92, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her home.

Lois was born on April 14, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Sadie Elizabeth (Derbonne) and Leopold Frances Hood. She married the love of her life Keither Earl Bryan in 1948 and then moving to Southeast Texas after his service in the Army. She had worked in the school’s cafeteria for many years for PNGISD. She was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Port Arthur. Lois loved to cook sweets, cookies, cupcakes, banana pudding and tea cakes for her family on their special occasion. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopold and Sadie Hood, her husband, Keither Earl Bryan in 2019, her son, Paul Curtis Bryan, her brother, Steven Hood and her sisters, Louise Hood and Sue Normand.

Lois is survived by her loving children, Benny Bryan of Groves, Vicki Linthicum and her husband, Brian of Groves, Terry Caillier and her husband, Ernest of Groves, Patricia Murdock and her husband, Steven of Beaumont, her brothers, Paul Hood of Ingleside and Gordon Hood of Denham Spring, LA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church of Port Arthur 5856 9th Ave, Port Arthur, TX 77642, with at gathering of family and friends from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
