Lloyd Thomas Martin, Jr., 60, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will follow at Burrell Cemetery in LaBelle.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on June 14, 1964, he was the son of Lloyd Thomas Martin, Sr. and Susan Martin. Lloyd had a passion for gardening, nurturing his plants with the same care and attention he offered to those around him. His love for the outdoors led him to hunting and fishing, where he could often be found perfecting his aim or enjoying the tranquility of nature. He was known as a great shot in the hunting community, and his stories often brought laughter and camaraderie among friends. Lloyd had a great love for music; listening and he also played the bass in a band in his young years.
In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Lloyd had a keen interest in collecting precious metals, particularly brass, along with a fondness for antiques. His collections reflected his appreciation for history and craftsmanship, and he took pride in sharing his finds with others.
Lloyd's legacy is one of warmth, friendship, and a deep connection to the earth. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his impact will live on in the memories created through shared experiences and cherished moments.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his grandparents, D.J. and Bessie Castille, and A.J. and Elosie Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Lloyd and Susan Martin, of LaBelle, Texas; children, Tiffany Anne Martin, of Fannett, Texas, Lloyd Thomas Martin III, of LaBelle, Texas, and Thomas Lloyd Martin, of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren, Lloyd Thomas Martin IV, Harmony Martin, Isabella Olvera, Maria Olvera, and Destiny Craigen; and his sisters, Diane Carol Hebert, of Fannett, Texas, and Carrie Anne Martin, of LaBelle, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
