Obituary

Linda Melancon Breaux

Linda Faye Melancon Breaux, 74, of Groves, went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Linda was born on May 27, 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas to Cleveland and Margaret Melancon. Linda was a lifelong residentof Groves, Texas and a 1967 graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School where she was a proud member of the Indianettes. Linda was a woman of faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was a very loyal, hard worker who retired from Gulf States Utilities/Entergy with over 30 years of service.

Linda was extremely caring, generous and thoughtful. She enjoyed bowling with her bowling league, reading books, watching Lifetime movies, cheering on the PNG Indians and always looked forward to her monthly Pokeno nights with her dear friends. What made Linda the happiest was being with her family, as her children and grandchildren were her world. She loved her kids fiercely and unconditionally and was the true definition of a selfless, loving mother who would sacrifice anything for her children. She taught us how to love your family with all you have. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean Ann Loncon and her husband Melvin; sister-in-law, Geraldine Gillard and her husband Roger; and brother-in-law Randy Breaux.

Linda is survived by her two daughters, Pam Broussard and her husband Shawn of Orange, and Stacey Breaux Burks of Groves; her son, Ryan Breaux and his wife Terica of Fannett; six grandchildren, Bryant Burks and his fiancé Gracelyn, Landon Burks, Noah Broussard, Rylan Breaux, Tyley Breaux and Avery Broussard; and her great-granddaughter, Willow Burks.  She is also survived by her ex-husband and friend, R.J. Breaux; sister-in-law, Elaine Landry and her husband Lee; sister-in-law, Gail Loukas and her husband Pete; and several nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Honoring Linda as pallbearers will be Bryant Burks, Landon Burks, Noah Broussard, Rylan Breaux, Jamie Loncon, and Jake Landry.

A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 6:00-6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves with her cousin, Father Jim Courville serving as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
