Lelia Rodriguez

Lelia Rodriguez, 96, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at her residence.

Lelia was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur and she was born on September 7, 1922 to parents Antonia (Garcia) and John Morua. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing, cooking for family and friends and in her younger years she loved to go dancing. Lelia was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Antonia Morua, her husband, Joe Rodriguez, her sons, Paul Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, her brothers, Jessie, Joe and Johnny Morua and her sister, Elosie Valdez.

Lelia is survived by her children, Joe Rodriguez Jr. and his wife, Jeniece of Groves, Richard Rodriguez of Port Arthur, David Rodriguez and his wife, Michelle of Port Neches, Cookie Goodsell of Rayburn Country and Lillie Schnick of Winnie. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
