Kathryn "Kathy' Ann Denney Smith

Kathryn (Kathy) Ann Denney Smith was born in Port Arthur, Texas on February 14, 1957. Kathy died on April 12, 2021. Kathy was 64 years old.

Kathy was the daughter of Harley and Lillie Denney. Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Kathy attended Lamar University. As an active Mother and Grandmother, Kathy was employed at the Beaumont Bone and Joint Clinic for many years.

Kathy met and married Michael Smith in 2010. Kathy, Michael and Dawson enjoyed travelling and camping together.

Kathy is survived by husband, Michael Smith, and grandson Dawson Socia of Port Arthur, and brother James (Robin) Denney of Houston, mother–in-law Charlene Smith of Coldspring, TX, sister-in-laws Loretta (Wayne) Williams of New Caney, TX, and Cheryl (Johnny) Smith of Magnolia, TX, step-daughters Heather Smith of Baytown, TX, and Rosie Ghelli of Louisiana. Kathy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Lillie Denney, her sister Karen, her daughter Jessica Salter, and her granddaughter Lillie Socia.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kathy on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall at The United Methodist Temple, 4101 TX-73, Port Arthur, Texas. Lunch will be served. Please come with memories to share.

Private graveside services will be held at a later time. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
