Jose Guadalupe Becerra Galvan

Jose Guadalupe Becerra Galvan, 77, of Port Arthur passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on May 24, 1945 in Mexico to David Becerra and Juana Galvan Becerra. Jose has been a resident of the area for most of his life. He worked as a landscaper for many years before he retired.  Jose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Salvador Becerra; his sisters, Maria and Maura Becerra.

Jose is survived by his loving wife, Consuelo Lopez Becerra of Port Arthur; his four daughters, Maribel Becerra and husband Gerardo Mejia of Port Arthur, Guadalupe Becerra of Port Arthur, Catalina Becerra and Margarita Becerra both from Mexico; his three sons, Jorge Becerra and wife Nancy Chavez of Nederland, Alejandro Becerra and wife Griselda Valveindo of Port Arthur, Antonio Becerra and wife Anna Nunez of Port Arthur along with 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Emma Becerra of California and Angela Becerra of Port Arthur; his three brothers, Arnulfo Becerra of Port Arthur, David Becerra and Rosendo Becerra both of Mexico as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.  Rev. Joseph Sigur will be celebrant for the mass. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
