John David Villot

John David Villot, 80, of Broaddus, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.

He was born on November 12, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Stafford Joseph Villot and Mary Elizabeth Posey Villot. David graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1960 and completed his education at Lamar University where he earned his Masters Degree in Education. He began his career in education as a teacher in history and government, working his way into administration duties as an assistant principal and eventually superintendent. David worked for Sabine Pass Independent School as superintendent for 34 years until he retired and moved to Broaddus. He worked as a bus driver for the Broaddus Independent School District. He lived in Sabine Pass for most of his life; served on the Water District board and Sabine Pass Port Authority Board. David had spent the last 25 years in Broaddus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vickie Galloway.

David is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanenne Lane Villot of Broaddus; his two daughters, , Dawn E. Garrett and husband John Defrancis of Bridge City;  Denise Frederick and husband Kirk of Groves; his four grandchildren, Katie Jones and husband Marquis of Humble, David Garrett of Austin, Delaney Frederick and Dallas Frederick both of Groves; his three great grandchildren, Draiden Jones, Kaiden Jones and Brayden Jones all of Humble. He is also survived by his two sisters, Cathy Melancon of Lake Charles, Jodie Daley and husband Fred of Groves along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM till 12:00 PM with a memorial Service to be 12:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.

Mr. Villot was way more than an educator! He was a man that truly LOVED people! What a beautiful soul he was! I still can’t do a crossword puzzle with a pen like he did, but I’ll make it there! May he rest in peace! My condolences to all of his friends and family!

Jeanenne and family: So sorry to hear about the loss of David, he was such a special person. Don't know if you remember me or not, but, we lived in Sabine Pass when Charlie was the principal there. We visited each other and had such good times with ya'll. You and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
