Obituary

Jewell Marie Ensley, 90, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Jewell was born on January 13, 1933 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to parents, Dealie (Youngblood) and Charlie Solomon Little. She had lived the last several years in Wichita. Jewell pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed drinking a good cool Coca-cola and watching old western shows. Jewell was a loving person who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Dealie Little, her brothers, Wilson Little, John Thomas Little and her sister, Ruth Williams.

Jewell is survived by her sons, Allen Ennis Jr. and his wife, Victoria, Hollis Joseph Ensley and his wife, Laurinda, John Edward Ensley and her sisters, Euline Foster. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous adoption children.

A funeral service will held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 9:00 AM until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Jason Blanchard. The family will hold a private burial following the services.

I have many fond memories of Ms. Jewel of visiting in her parents home when I was a kid. I am the youngest of the big Greer family who were their neighbors. One of my elder sister's Minnie Rachel Greer Weaver and I are all that is left of us Greer's immediate family.
