Jeremy Scott Welch

Jeremy Scott Welch, 40, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

He was born on January 23, 1980 to his parents, Scott Welch and Glenda Moore Welch in Port Arthur, Texas. Jeremy was a resident of Mid-County for most of his life. He spent most of his career on the water as a sailor and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends out by the fire pit. He took every opportunity to dance in the kitchen, making corny jokes to lift the spirits of others, and to ensure he lived his life to the fullest with every passing day.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis Moore and Geraldine Moore; paternal grandparents, Norbert Welch and Shirley Welch; and uncle, Eddie Moore.

Jeremy is survived by his father, Scott Welch and wife, Jonell of Groves, his mother Glenda Moore Bolia and Joel Waller of Groves; his brother, Jason Welch and wife, Vicki Welch of Houston; his children, Jayce Welch and Gabrielle Welch of Tennessee; his wife, Deloris Welch of Groves; and step-children, Damian Cunningham, Lani Johnston, and Taylor Johnston of Groves. He leaves numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins behind to cherish his memory.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Cremation arrangements were entrust to the funeral home.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently in, all visitors to the funeral home are required to wear face mask or covering and practice social distancing as mandated by the State and County officials.

I miss u Welch. I wish you could’ve meet your grandson and nephew. You would’ve loved them so much.I still see pawpaw as often as possible. I also watch over mom the best I can. You’ll forever be missed jerms🥺❤️

Jeremy was such a kind hearted person. No matter what he was going through, he would put it aside to lift someone's spirit if they were felling down. He was a good guy and a good friend. We will miss you Jeremy.

So sorry for your loss may he RIP We have known Jeremy since he was very young. When he was staying with Mrs Moore, and uncle Eddie He visited and played with our sons..Stephen and Justlin Hollier..his other Grandmother Ms Shirley kept me updated on him and JJ..she was always so proud of the two of them..and we were too.. Just wish we could have seen them grown.. We loved them both Myra and Craig Hollier.. God Rest his soul..
