Jennifer Lynn Chavez

1961 ∼ 2025

Jennifer Lynn Chavez, a beloved figure in the Groves community, was born on November 2, 1961, and lived a life packed with joy until her passing on August 7, 2025. Jennifer spent her days dedicated to nourishing young minds as a cherished lunch lady for the Port Arthur Independent School District, where she brought a smile to everyone she served with her warm personality and culinary skills.

From a young age, Jennifer built a life filled with passions. She had a special love for fishing, crabbing, barbecuing, and dancing. Yet, above all, it was her family that truly captured her heart. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of her life, where laughter echoed and cherished memories were made, binding them together.

Jennifer is survived by her devoted husband, Raul Chavez, who stood by her side through every adventure. She is also survived by her three loving sons: Brandon McDaniel of Groves and Brent Orta, who, along with his wife Crystal, reside in Orange. Her heart also welcomed her stepson, Francisco Javier Chavez, and bonus daughter Amber Castro, both of Groves. To the delight of the family, Jennifer leaves behind 14 wonderful grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were the apples of her eye and filled her days with unending joy.

Jennifer's sisters, Rozana Watson and Diana Logue, both from Port Arthur, will remember her with much love and fondness, as she shared countless moments and sparkling stories with them throughout the years.

While her beloved son, Brian Anguiano, and her parents Clarence Logue and Mary Jean Logue, along with her sister Gwenda Logue, have passed on, their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

A Visitation will be held for Jennifer on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves, TX, ensuring the community can come together to celebrate the vibrant life she led.

Jennifer Lynn Chavez will be remembered not only for her nurturing hands in the cafeteria but for her vibrant spirit that brought so much happiness to those around her. Her legacy of love will remain etched in the hearts of many, creating ripples of joy and cherished memories that will last forever.
