Jeffrey Lane Terrell

Jeffrey Lane Terrell, 69, of Groves, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Jeffrey was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 1, 1954, to Andrew Clinton Terrell and Latretta Jo Young Terrell.

He attended and graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1972. Jeffrey went on to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 12 years, then successfully became the owner and operator of Terrell’s Trucking for 20 years until his retirement.

Jeff’s children were the fire that lit his soul. He loved being their baseball and soccer Coach, their # 1 fan, but most of all, their Daddy! Jeff loved karaoke and listening to music with the kids in the breezeway. His favorite pastime was riding his motorcycle, being in his boat on the water, and traveling to any place with sunshine, sand, and good music! Jeff cherished spending time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. His famous wardrobe included sleeveless t-shirts, Levi’s Jean Shorts, and Flip-flops.

Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Latretta Jo Young Walker of Groves, TX; his wife of 48 years, Beth Terrell; and his Grand Daughter, Kallee Jo Fox of Groves, TX; and Brother-in-law Glenn Guidry and wife Becky, David Guidry and wife Rita; and Uncles Jim Young and wife Sammie, Bob Young and wife Patty, Paul Young and wife Debbie, and Aunt, Kelly Young; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from Atlanta Georgia.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Clinton Terrell; Stepfather, Charles Walker; Grandparents, Lewis and Beth Young; Aunt, Sharon Young; Uncle Joe Young; and Son, Jeffrey Charles Terrell; and Daughter, Jennifer Jo Terrell.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Honoring Jeffrey as pallbearers will be Joey BonDurant, Chuck BonDurant, Mark Stelly, Charles Stelly, Tyler Lopez, Cade Guidry, Robert Young, and Damon Young .
