Jeanette Rita Labove

Jeanette Rita Rodriguez LaBove , 90, of Groves passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Magnolia Manor in Groves.

She was born on March 16, 1930 to her parents, Dennis Rodriguez and Lorena Vincent Rodriguez in Port Arthur, Texas. She lived most of her life in Sabine Pass and has been a resident of Groves since 2008. Jeanette and her husband, O. D., owned and operated LaBove Shooting Resort in Sabine Pass until his death in 1982, after which she continued to operate for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Sabine Pass, member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and attended mass at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, O. D. LaBove and her brother-in-law, James Berg along with her great nephew, Ryan Berg.

Jeanette is survived by her three daughters, Claudia Kay Peltier and her husband, David of Little Cypress, Jada Louise Soileau and her husband, Jimmy of Nederland, Maureen Ann Plauche' and her husband, Lane of Sabine Pass, her son, Randal LaBove and his wife, Angie of College Station, her six grandchildren, Justin Peltier, Rhette Peltier, Lanie Ward, Hunter Plauche', Drake LaBove and Kailey LaBove along with 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Ann Berg of Sabine Pass, several nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 5 PM to 8 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, July 6, 2020 at Immaculate Conception/ St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are presently in, the wearing of face mask is required at the funeral home and church under orders from the County and social distancing is also practiced.
