Obituary

Jean Irene Little, 89, of Nederland, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home.

Jean was born on June 29, 1933 in Santa Barbara, California to parents Helen Louise (Blackmore) and Norris Franklin Elliott, Sr. She had lived much of her life in the Port Arthur area and she was of the Catholic Faith. She had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Charge Nurse in the ER for 33 plus years. Jean enjoyed painting, cross stitching, reading and shopping on Amazon, she got to know the mailperson on a first name basis. Jean was a loving person who will be dearly missed by all.

She preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Norris Elliott, Sr., her brother, Norris “Ellie” Elliott Jr., her husband, Sydney Little, her sons, Brad Little and Mitch Little.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Cyd Marie Cappel and her spouse, Robin Cappel of Bridge City, Megan Stelly and her husband, Robert Stelly of Nederland, her grandchildren, Cody Badon and wife, Jill, Beau Badon, Joey Stelly and wife, Brandy, Amber Stelly. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Breelyn Badon, Lilah Badon, Tyler and Skylar Giles, Amberlynn, Braelynn and Madalynn Stelly and by her furry friends, Squeaky and Kiki.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, a rosary will be prayed a 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A Christian Burial Service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 AM, with Rev. J. C. Coon as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to send out a specially Thank You to Gentiva Hospice for the love and care given to our mother, Jean Little.

My prayers go out to the family. I will miss Mrs Little. She was always "in charge" at St Mary ER. When I would bring patients in, I knew they would be getting the absolute best care along with her team, Stevie, Debbie, Claudia, Drs Matsuda, Gibb, and Gunn. RIP Mrs. Little.

Dearest Megan, Robert, Cyd Marie, Robin and extended family.... I wish I could be there for Mama's funeral but I will be in spirit. As we move forward in our lives, we will have a huge hole where our beloved Mama once was. Please keep in mind that she is not in any pain now and she gets to run up and give Jesus a hug in person whenever she wants to. Plus, she is with Brad, Dad and Mitch Roy again, and that is such a joyous thought that I don't think we can be sad for long. We will all be together again one day.
