Jane Marie Hebert

1936 ∼ 2025

Jane Marie Hebert, a beloved homemaker and spirited soul, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, in Bridge City, Texas. Born on December 31, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas, Jane lived a life characterized by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for others.

Throughout her life, Jane was known for her nurturing spirit. As a caregiver, she devoted her time to sitting with the elderly, offering companionship and comfort. Her heart was a wellspring of affection, and she never met a stranger. With her signature greeting, “I love you, Darlin” and her endless hope for everyone’s happiness with “Have a Good Day,” Jane transformed the everyday into something special. Her love for the outdoors and riding brought her immense joy, embodying the spirit of adventure and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Jane is survived by her cherished sons, Clarence Philpott and his wife Lori, Mark Philpott and his wife Babette, and Randy Philpott and his wife Belinda, along with her bonus daughter, Pauline Johns and her brother, Ronald Norris. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives she touched deeply. Each of them carries a piece of her loving spirit in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Hebert, and her parents, who nurtured her throughout her early years. Her son, Ricky Philpott, brothers; Gerald Norris, and Kenneth "Sunny Boy" Norris, and her sister Ethel Felder. The void left by Jane’s passing will be felt not only by her family but also by the many friends who were fortunate enough to know her gentle soul.

Friends and family are invited to honor Jane’s remarkable life during visitation at the Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves, Texas, on March 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, beginning at 2:00 PM. With burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

As we remember Jane, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, her zest for life, and the love she so freely shared with all. She may have left this earthly realm, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just learned today of Aunt Jane Marie's passing. She and Aunt Cooney used to keep my son, Justin (her great-nephew), when he was a toddler. He kept them busy, but they always enjoyed having him and playing with him. She was feisty and fun. My mother-in-law, Beverly, always thought the world of her. I know the feeling was mutual, because Aunt Jane Marie expressed it to me many times. I am happy to see pictures of them together in the video. She was a bright light that will be missed.
