Obituary

Jacqueline Ann Hardy, 72, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at her residence.

Jacqueline was born on April 22, 1947 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Elaine Ora (LeBlanc) and John Claire Haynes Jr. She had lived in Groves for 20 years, prior in Port Arthur. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended St. Catherine Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with family. Jacqueline was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by parents John and Elaine Haynes Jr., her son, Martin Paul Hardy and her sister, Bessie Marie Haynes.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Hardy of Groves, her son, Michael Paul Hardy of Nederland. She is also survived by her friend of 23 years, Julia Holmes of Groves, her grandchildren, Levi Self, Joseph Hardy, Nathan Self, Lillian Hardy and Noah Hardy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A 12 PM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Jefferson County in Nederland.
