Obituary

Hector A. Davalos, 62, of Groves passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on June 30, 1958 in Port Arthur, Texas to his parents, Hector Lopecedeno Davalos and Socorro Gonzalez Zul. Hector was a lifelong resident of the area. He worked as an auto mechanic for Kmart and retired from Penske after 21 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Hector is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Davalos of Groves; his two sons, David Alexander Davalos of Groves, Marco Antonio Davalos of Galveston; his daughter, Kristina Isabel Davalos of Galveston; his mother, Socorro Davalos of Georgetown; his four sisters, Sara (Abel) Ramirez of Georgetown, Irene Cruz of Port Arthur, Marti Davalos of Katy, Elizabeth (Edmund) Schatzle of Youngsville; his brother, Rueben Davalos of Bridge City; his sister-in-law, Beatriz Gonzalez of League City, Stella Gonzalez of Galveston, Leticia Murphy of Galveston, Irene Ortiz of Texas City, Rosana Gonzalez of Texas City, Adriana Gonzalez of Galveston; his nieces and nephews, and his great-nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service to be held at 6:00 PM at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Hector’s life will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson.  Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently in, all visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a face mask or facial covering and practice social distancing as mandated by the state and county officials.

I met Hector 40 years ago, he and Russell were good friends, Hector was a groomsman in our wedding, he will be truly missed by all that knew him, from the Van Club to Softball teams, he was a good friend. May he forever Rest In Peace.
