A few years back Adam told me that one of her favorite songs was Autumn Leaves. I looked up the lyrics and surprised her by singing it was to her over the phone. Halfway through she joined me. She got the biggest kick out of that. My condolences to Adam Troy, Mr. Rodriguez and the rest of the family.

Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez were neighborhood parents to all of us in Groves during the seventies and eighties. When you walked through their door, they welcomed you with love, laughter, and, of course, food. I will never forget Mrs. Rodriguez making hundreds, if not thousands, of pitchers of Tang (orange Vitamin C drink) for all of the kids to drink after playing outside all day. She was a great mother and friend. She never missed a football, basketball, or baseball game, and she always had a word of encouragement for us regardless if our team or lost. She had a kind heart, a friendly smile, and good food on her stove. I miss those days when she always asked me about grades in school, if I was hungry, or I wanted a cold glass of Tang. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Rodriguez. My sincere condolences to Mr. Rodriguez, Marina, Troy, Juan, KiKi, and family.
