A Life Remembered
Obituary
Gina Marie Durham, a vibrant soul born on December 24, 1961, in Port Arthur, Texas and raised in Groves Texas. She left this world on January 31, 2025, in Hemphill, Texas, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and loved ones who will forever remember the laughter, the love she spread, and those dimples.
Gina was dedicated to the community during her time working for the City of Port Arthur in various positions. Also, working for Port Neches Groves school district as an aid in Life Skills. While working for the City of Port Arthur she was a contributor with the startup of Mardi Gras. Attending Mardi Gras in downtown Port Arthur became a cherished tradition and echoed her motto to “Have Fun” in life.
As a devoted mother, Gina’s involvement with her children’s activities was an unwavering joy in her life. From band activities, softball and football games, and Boy Scout adventures, she embraced these moments with her family, nurturing their spirits and cheering them on.
Gina had a love with water activities; being at the lake, the beach, out on the river, or even a swimming pool would do in a pinch. Her fondness of fishing at the lake took a delightful twist. What began as a day reading and listening to music out in the boat, she caught a 4-pound bass and she was hooked on catching a lake monster.
Gina leaves behind her beloved husband, Frank “Bull” Durham, her son, Daniel Durham and his wife Jessica, and her cherished grandson Danny Durham, daughter, Lauren Durham Hales, and her husband Kyle, and her cherished grand-dog Ella. Gina is also survived by her sister Terri Riley; and father Joe Riley and his wife, Betty, along with a large extended family and a host of nieces and nephews carrying pieces of her joyful spirit. There are a few special people that shared that joyful spirit: Cindi Durham and Helen Reeves, Tracey and Jimmy Broussard, Denise and Gary Quebedeaux, Vicki and Brian Linthicum, and Jamie Foster,
She is preceded in death by her mother Rose Reese and her dad John Reese, who will be welcoming her with open arms, their spirits intertwined in affectionate memories they built together during her cherished life.

I remember Mrs. Gina from my softball childhood memories. She was the awesome dug out mom that was always there to encourage and help with whatever that was needed. The times I went over to her house she always made sure I felt right at home and I did.
Prayers and thoughts for all her family and friends ❤️ God bless

I used to keep Gina and Terry after school many years ago while Rose worked. I loved my time with her and she also was my granddaughter’s helper in her classroom several years back. She was a beautiful, sweet person and she will be missed by many. She was a very special person and will be missed.

Gina was always fun to be around, and always made Christmas Eve and the Christmas season so much more bright with her birthday during the holidays. She loved our family travels in the summer to Destin, Florida. It was always one of our families cherished vacation spots. We are so sad to hear of her passing. Much love to the Durham’s and Riley’s. ❤️😇
