Gene Anthony Duhe

Gene Anthony Duhe, 84, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 2, 1935 to his parents, Dennis Duhe and Nelka Schexnayder Duhe in Port Arthur, Texas. Gene graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Gene was the former owner and operator of The Muffler Shop on Memorial Boulevard, a family business, with over 54 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jackie Prince and his brother, James Duhe.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Dugas Duhe of Port Arthur, his daughter, Cindy Duhe of Groves, his eldest son, Dennis Duhe and his wife, Kerri of Port Arthur, his two grandchildren, Spencer Duhe and Caitlin Duhe, his youngest son, Colby Duhe of Schulenberg, Texas along with his sister, Phyllis Guidry of Port Arthur, his brother, Lane Duhe of Port Neches as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 25, 2020 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Gene’s life will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Those coming to pay their respects to the family during the visitation and the service are asked to observe proper social distancing during the Covid-19 crisis.

The family would like to thank, Kindred Hospice for their loving care and concern for Gene as well as for them.
