Gary Wayne Christie

Gary Wayne Christie, 74, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Arboretum of Winnie.

He was born on January 23, 1946 to his parents, Orville Christie and Mildred Dyson Christie in Port Arthur, Texas. Gary was a lifelong resident of area and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad as a Foreman. Gary was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aiere # 227 and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and camping as well as piddling around his work shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Shirley Christie.

Gary is survived by his two daughters, Kim Guidry and her husband, Lance of Bridge City, Tracy Roccaforte and her husband, Jay of Port Neches along with his five grandchildren, Hayden Guidry, Lauren Guidry, Carley Roccaforte, Carson Roccaforte and Connor Roccaforte.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Gary’s life will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 30, 2020 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
