Gail Ann Forster

1937 ∼ 2019

Gail Ann Forster

Gail Ann Forster, 81, resident of Port Arthur, passed away peaceably on Monday, April 29, 2019 at her home, of complications following hip surgery.

Gail was born in Port Arthur on June 22, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Anthony Forster, her parents, Vernon Joseph Broussard and Joycelyn Marie Broussard, her brothers Mark Broussard, and Jeffery Broussard, her son Klint Raymond Forster, and her daughter Deidre Sue Murphy. Also her beloved Labrador Retriever Roman Forster.

Gail was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School in 1955, where she was a Majorette baton twirler, and graduated at the top of her class. She was a retired dispatcher from both the Port Arthur Police department and Port Arthur Fire department.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and finally great-great grandmother. Gail really enjoyed all the family and extended family members to a great deal and was a very giving individual as was her mother before her. She was a volunteer candy striper for local hospitals for a time as well. Gail attended Triumph Church for most of her Christian life. She loved God almighty as any devout Christian does. Every year at Christmas she baked over 80 loaves of pumpkin, ginger, and banana nut bread for all the family and grandchildren, as well as countless other cookies and such, which we will all miss very much.

Gail routinely gave out of her heart to numerous charities including her favorite St. Jude Children’s Research Center

Gail is survived by her children, Michael Keith Forster 62, Kim Elizabeth Venable 61, Kevin Dwayne Forster 60, and Sandra Ann Hein 56, stepchildren, Sharon Hessong 49 and Cynthia Diane Forster 48. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and her siblings Lana Marie Lynch, and Hedy Louise Ryder

The Celebration Service will be on May 18, 2019 at 4 pm, with a gathering of family and friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home at 5200 39th Street, Groves Texas 77619 (409) 962-8336, Gail and Max both desired to donate their body to science so this is a cremation service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to extend donation invitations to St. Jude Children Research Center, you can go here. https://www.stjude.org/ on the World Wide Web.

The family wanted to thank the Pastor of Triumph Church for his devotion in seeing their Mother through the hard times of her life and preparing her to meet her heavenly family.

Condolences

There is the lady with so much class and beauty holding her great great granddaughter Zaylee Danae. I’m so happy that Maw got to see my daughter her first great granddaughter  have her lil precious girl! Maw got to Zaylee a few times b4 her passing and Zaylee would light up when maw talked to her! My honey was so gracious to me and my children! She loved with all her might! Maw raised me from 3 to 12 and those were prob the happiest years of my life! She always made me feel wanted and loved. She would always make u feel like u were that special one her favorite! Which she had many of us....I’m very thankful that I did get a few last moments with her b4 the Lord called her home but I do regret not spending as much time with her as possible. I miss u maw!! I remember u as the wonderful lady that loved to shop and loved to bake at Christmas time. Christmas was def ur thing with all ur matching presents and bows and the most beautifully decorated tree! Ur house always smelling of delicious smells. Theses are the things I will miss but more than anything it’s ur sweet lil kiss u would always give me on my head and tell me u will never know how much I love u Keisha Renae! We say our good byes tomorrow for good! I know u were ready to go but we were not ready to let u go! Ur life on earth is done now u must take care of our loved ones up stairs! What a wonderful mother and sister and friend.  Such a special lady that was a joy to be around.   Even though I only met her in person twice we were FB friends and I got to see the kind of person she was.  I loved her. She called me on Thanksgiving. That was so thoughtful. I love the Forster family and always have.
