Obituary

Fred E. Parent, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, peacefully departed this world on December 4, 2025, at the age of 76 in Beaumont, Texas. Born on April 4, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Fred lived a life marked by devotion, love, and patriotism.

Fred dedicated 35 years of his life as an Instrument Technician at DuPont Sabine River Works. Known for his vibrant personality, Fred possessed a remarkable talent for storytelling. He had a unique way of weaving tales that captivated his listeners, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering. His passion for life extended into various hobbies and interests, including his HAM Radio, engaging games of dominoes, and coastal fishing trips. Fred held a special affection for Bolivar Peninsula, a place where many cherished memories were created with family and friends.

His military service in the United States Army shaped him into the man his family and community will remember. He served with pride.

Fred's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 57 years, Kathy Parent, who has been his partner through life's journey. He is also survived by his son, Jim Parent and his wife, Sheri, and daughter, Shelia Parent, who will forever treasure his memory. His grandchildren, Dustin Martin, James Parent, Katelyn Dillard and her husband, Jack, as well as his great-grandchildren, Thora Martin, JD Dillard, Asher Dillard, and Caden Dillard. Fred is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Creed, Susan Felix and her husband, Mike, sister in law, Judy Kuykendall, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Fred E. Parent was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Parent, and his in laws James and Carolyn Belk, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. The memories of Fred's laughter and his gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Fred Edward. My sympathy goes out to Kathy and his children, as well as his sisters, Susan and Patricia and their families. I understand that Fred Edward was much like his dad and loved to fix and repair things. Our fathers were brothers that loved each other very much and Growing up with my cousins is a very special time in my life It is so heartbreaking to lose a husband, sibling, and grandfather. I am so sorry to hear about his death.
